in year 2017 pick load of batumi city and kobuleti exceeded 117 mw/hrs, which is by 25% more than for the same period in 2016; cases of new connections also have been increased, enhancing demand on electricity. to satisfy the demand, it is necessary to provide new capacities, which is impossible at present due to the technical condition of hv line “erge 1”. mentioned line had been constructed in the 30ies of the 20th century. therefore, capital reconstruction and repair of the line is necessary for the improvement of the line capacity at least twice; this on the other hand will provide secure and stable energy supply of batumi and kobuleti. with regards to the reconstruction of 110 kv transmission line erge 1, jsc energo-pro georgia along with the representatives of the ministry of economics and gnewrc held a meeting with representatives of local and self governments in adjara and ngos. they were once again explained that erge 1 represents one of the central energy supply lines to adjara autonomous republic. through this line expected loads will be satisfied and new connections provided. representatives of epg also presented a conclusion made by professors and experts of the georgian technical university, according to which after the line rehabilitation, all safety norms will be secured. therefore there will be no danger to the health of locals. distance from the land to the wire will be increased more and all the safety activities will be carried out. erge 1 is the property owned by epg, which is completely registered and accordingly installation of the poles will take place at the same land plots. first stage of rehabilitation project costs gel 6 mln. after the completion of the reconstruction works, hv line erge 1 will be the source of contemporary high quality electricity supply in adjara.

jsc energo-pro georgia plans to transfer to its balance electricity network of bakhmaro and beshumi
in course of the fact that bakhmaro and beshumi feeding and distribution network is depreciated and in a terrible condition, electricity supply is carried out with interruptions to its customers, safety norms are to be ordered in compliance with the existing standards. jsc energo-pro georgia discusses taking the network of these two resorts to the company balance, renovation of their energy infrastructure and improvement of electricity supply of both resorts. at present bakhmaro and beshumi networks are under the supervision of local municipalities and accordingly, company will start negotiations with their representatives. we welcome and share rge announcement made by pm of georgia regarding the improvement of electricity supply at the mentioned resorts. we are confident that with the endieavours of georgian government tourist infrastructure will be developed at bakhmaro and beshumi, which will be a significant insentive for future investments in these touristic zones, for development of small and medium businesses and creation of new work places. all the above is impossible without well functioning electricity network. after the company aquires these networks, all the activities required for the improvement of infrastructure and network functioning will be planned.

minister of industry and trade of czech republic marta novakova along with members of the delegation visited zahesi hydro power plant today. energo-pro is one of the largest groups which has been operating at georgian energy market for already 12 years. the group was founded in city of svitavi in czech republic, member state of european union in 1994. during the meeting in zahesi, apart from the tour around the plant, company representatives introduced minister of industry and trade with the energo-pro group business in georgia. at present energo-pro group in georgia is presented by jsc energo-pro georgia, jsc energo-pro georgia generation, jsc zahesi and llc gpower. mentioned companies carry out business in electricity distribution and generation spheres. jsc energo-pro georgia carries out electricity distribution throughout georgian regions and serves 1200 000 customers. as for other three companies, they carry out electricity generation maintaining 15 hpps and gardabani gas turbine power plant. for years jsc energo-pro georgia is named among the ten companies which carry out largest direct foreign investments in georgia. this result was registered in the second quarter of 2018.

electricity supply of several villages in kakheti will improve
jsc energo-pro georgia continues electricity grid rehabilitation activities throughout the company service area. at present company carries out 0.4 kv network rehabilitation in kakheti. in frame of rehabilitation activities depreciated poles are being replaced and new cable systems installed, as a result probability of emergency shut downs will be reduced increasing electricity supply quality for up to 3000 customers in city of lagodekhi, telavi district village vardisubani, dedoplistskaro village mirzaani, gurjaani district villages dzirkoki and mzisguli, sighnaghi region village tsnori and kvareli region village chantliskuri. jsc energo-pro georgia continues network rehabilitation works in the company grid in order to increase reliability and stability of electricity supply.

kakheti branch of jsc energo-pro georgia has new management
the management of jsc energo-pro georgia presented the new management of kakheti branch and the manager of telavi service center. the regional branch will be headed by berdia gogladze, who has been working as director of jsc energo-pro georgia’s south georgia branch. zurab japaridze and leri kakauridze were also appointed on key positions of the management in the region. telavi service center also has a new manager, it will be headed by levan shavlakadze. after purchasing kakheti distribution energy company in august 2017, the branch was managed by the head office management for 8 months. “all nominated candidates are experienced and merited employees of the company. i am sure that they will be able to successfully solve all the challenges and problems that they will experience in the region, along with the local professionals who have always worked in the region. there are lot of challenges indeed as jsc energo-pro georgia aims to improve the service quality in the region and enhance commercial indicators for which we have approved a substantially increased investment fund. specific projects have already begun and are developing with a fast pace, which our customers across kakheti will surely feel, ” – said mikhail botsvadze, general director of jsc “energo-pro georgia”. the company’s management also visited new service centers in telavi and gurjaani in which all customers will have access to universal services.

with the purpose to carry out reconstruction of substation in tianeti, jsc “energo-pro georgia” is investing up to 3 mln gel
with the purpose to improve the energy supply in tianeti, jsc “energo-pro georgia” carries out large scale rehabilitation project cost of what is about 3 million gel. rehabilitaton is carried out for high voltage substation “tianeti 110” and 2 high voltage transmission lines by what reliability of energy supply between mtskheta mtianeti and kakheti regions.
distribution devices and facilities existed in substation is entirely replaced and reconstructed, second power transformer will be installed, as a result of what, energy supply of tianeti will be significantly improved. within the scope of the project, rehabilitation will be carried out for the high voltage transmission line “magharoskari” which connects dusheti municipality to the high voltage transmission line “kvetera” by what electricity is supplied to akhmeta municipality from tianeti region.
deriving from the large scale of the works, technical personnel of jsc “energo-pro georgia” as well as contractors will be involved into the project implementation. completion of the project is planned to be done in august of the current year.

on sunday, october 28, jsc "energo-pro georgia" will work in an emergency regimeduring the presidential elections of georgia. specially appointed duty groups will work in all districts within 24 hours. also, technical equipment will be mobilized.
polling stations will have a direct connection with the duty groups. in case ofan accident or other unforeseen event that might causeelectricity shut down, the technical service of the company will make a quick and operational response.
list of responsible persons on duty and their contact numbers have already been sent to the central election commission. the cec representative will have direct contact with the chief dispatcher of the company. additionally, certain number of generators will be prepared in order to prevent the hindrance of election process due to an unexpected electricity shut down .

jsc energo-pro georgia continues energy field popularization
in frame of energy field popularization project, jsc energo-pro georgia holds open lessons to public schools’ pupils in regions. at the open lessons company employees introduced the 8th and 9th grade pupils to the methods of electricity generation, held practical joyful tests and etc. pupils also had sightseeing tours at the company owned hpps.
major goal of the project is popularization of energy and electricity engineering fields, which is the part of the strategy of human resource department of the company. epg has been implementing this project along with usaid since 2016 at the various regional schools in georgia. at present up to 100 schools undertook the lessons. mentioned project will continue during the 2018-2019 study term as well. schools willing to engage in to the project, can contact human resource department of epg.
apart from that for the purposes of the attraction of more young cadres to the field of power engineering, epg carries out various projects. company gives the students of the vocational education institutions the opportunity to undertake practical trainings at the company with future employment perspective.
