in frame of field popularization project, jsc energo-pro gergia held open lessons to public schools’ pupils in regions. the company implements mentioned project along with usaid at 50 public schools around the regions in georgia. major goal of the project is popularization of energy and electricity engineering fields, which is the part of the strategy of human resource department of the company. during the study period, company employees explained to the 8th and 9th grade pupils methods of electricity generation, situations and areas threatening life and health; held practical tests and etc.; in frame of the same project, those schools where the lessons were had been carried out already, received special constructing models of hpps, warning banners and attendance certificates from the company. in frame of the field popularization project, rustavi #4 public school pupils apart from open lesson visited daughter company of epg, thermal power plant gpower for the sightseeing tour. for the purpose of the attraction of more young cadres to the field of power engineering, epg carries out various projects – company issues grants for the students of the vocational education institutions, gives them the opportunity to undertake practical training at the company with future employment perspective. jsc energo-pro georgia participates in educational programs and standards renewal processes; also actively is engaged in the re-training of the teachers in the field.

for the improvement of the customer service and increase of its efficiency, jsc energo-pro georgia implemented new sms service. in case of a customer wants to receive information on the phone about one’s own electricity arrears, a customer must send sms to the phone number 91573 with digit 3 in the text. customer will receive sms after the application to the company service center or call the hot line (0322471707) or register at the customer’s page (http://my.energo-pro.ge/ow/#/login) at the web page of epg (www.energo-pro.ge). apart from that customers will be able to receive other information about the services via sms. in case a customer wants to revise information from the last sms received, he must send digit 1 to the indicated number. in case customer dials digit 2 and indicates new cell number, old number in the system will be replaced with the new one and a customer will receive sms to the new cell number. in view of the customer service, call center operates at epg. the call center works 24 hours a day. any time during the day customers may contact the customer service and receive favorable information. call center may be reached at: 0322471707. apart from that customers may post at epg through the company social web page or write to e-mail: customers@energo-pro.ge. jsc energo-pro georgia will continue working in the direction of the customer service improvement and implement new projects.

on july 13, 2018, on the territory of mtskheta service center of jsc “energo-pro georgia”, napetvrebi, company employees discovered disguised bus in the woods, where crypto currency miners were installed. mentioned bus consumed electricity bypassing the metering circuit. in addition to the power theft, the rules of electricity consumption safety were completely violated. consequently, with the full observance of the law, the administrative protocol was concluded on the ground. due to this, the company applied to the law enforcement agencies. there was a risk that the mentioned bus would also carry out out-of-law consumption in other areas and violate the safety rules that would create threat to life. as for the allegations regarding financial interests of the company employees, they are absolutely absurd and defamatory. the fact of the theft was discovered by the company employees operatively and despite the offer to have a financial settlement and not to register the violation, the company employees acted in full compliance with the law and drafted relevant administrative act. furthermore, after this fact constant monitoring started as a result of which second point of the abduction was discovered. the fact that the crypto currency servers were installed in the bus creates reasonable doubt that the movable car is designed to move through the network and abduct electricity in a short period of time (2-3 days). it is noteworthy that electricity cost represents quite a large share of the total cost of mined crypto currency. company possesses information that alike movable vehicles may still move within the company’s operation area and abduct electricity. the relevant services of jsc energo-pro georgia have been assigned to strictly detect and to the maximum prevent such cases.

jsc energo-pro georgia awarded students of the vocational institutions
jsc energo-pro georgia continues support of popularization of the vocational education. the company gave a financial award to the participant of “hackathon 2017”, students of information technologies faculty of akhaltsikhe vocational institution opizari. students presented at the competition “ultrasonic bracelet for the blind” by means of which blind person will be able to define how far is the distance till the desired location in a specific building (ex: educational institution). favorite team of epg which worked on the idea of the ultrasonic bracelet and its prototype for a month, will have the opportunity to improve innovation and make its future realization with the award received. jsc energo-pro georgia was actively enrolled in the processing of the project as the sponsor also one of the company representatives was the member of jury. facilitators of the event were ministry of education and science of georgia, lepl georgian innovation and technologies agency and euhack. in frame of hackathon 2017 students’ teams from 9 various vocational institutions with the help of the innovatory industrial labs at the colleges and base at techno park, created interesting projects and idea prototypes. in course of the popularization of the vocational education, this project is one of the many supported by epg. in general, for the promotion of the vocational education in the field of energy epg cooperates with the ministry of education and science, national center for education quality development and vocational institutions in georgia.

improvement of gender balance, promotion of professional development of female workers at the company, implementation of equal career opportunities – all these are the issues on which jsc energo-pro georgia works actively. with this emphasis since year 2015 company has been in active cooperation with usaid. professions and vacancies in the field of power engineering are more attractive for males as they are associated with physical labor. despite this epg revised priorities and made decision to engage actively into the process of gender balance improvement in the company. in this regards, number of regulations and procedures have been implemented in the company. with the purpose to foster popularity of power engineering and electricity fields and attract more females, since 2016 company launched a project in frame of which company female employees visited up to 50 schools around georgia and held classes to 8th and 9th grade pupils on the topics electricity generation methods, their importance and prospects. part of pupils were taken on sightseeing tours to company owned hpps and ttp. the lessons were held by the female employees which was a clear message for the pupils especially girls that the field is attractive for all gender representatives. in total 1500 pupils attended the classes. the project will be of a permanent character. on the basis of the existing regulations, the filtering of the persons searching for the job is not carried out according to the gender. for the absolute majority of the positions company applies professional testing method, which excludes any subjectivness. in case of an interview, selection committee evaluates candidates based on the preliminarily defined criteria. the selection committee is being composed in view of gender balance. company pays great attention to the professional training of the employees ad offers them various courses in english language and computer science; when selecting the students gender balance is maintained. in the end of 2016 epg participated in the 3rd global forum “business for gender equality” (panama), where company achievements in the direction of gender were discussed and evaluated highly. “mentioned data is not enough for maintenance of gender balance; however, company works actively in this direction and has already made specific steps from this angle” – said head of the human resource management department giorgi trapaidze.
