soon energo-pro georgia will open a new training center, which will correspond to european standards. training center will be created at the company basis and will be filled with qualified trainers. the goal of the training center is to conduct professional and qualification trainings as well as re-training and education of company employees or potential employees. operation of the training center will facilitate increase of qualification of cadres; assist them in realization of their potential and development of professional skills. epg training center will conduct internal as well as external type trainings. qualified trainers will hold class type group learning, also it will be possible to take electronic courses and what is most important – undertake study practice, which is significantly important for persons working in energy field. persons, who will undertake professional study courses or trainings at epg training center, will be granted certificates; while persons with best results will be given an opportunity of an employment at jsc energo-pro georgia. apart from that epg training center is significant as it provides the opportunity of service to other companies; in particular, epg training center will be able to hold qualification trainings or study courses following the order of any other company or physical entity. conduct of study courses and trainings, in accordance with qualification requirements of the order initiator, will be possible at the training facility, which is specially created for this purposes at epg central office building. training room will be completely equipped with modern technologies according to european standards.

reorganization at jsc energo-pro georgia has been completed successfully, as a result of which legal entity – joint stock company energo-pro georgia generation has been separated uniting company generation objects, while jsc energo-pro georgia continues business with the distribution license, owns corresponding distribution assets, exploitation and electricity distribution. major factors for the reorganization are future legislative reforms, implementation of which is caused by the joining of georgia to the energy community. in particular, 2009/72/ec directive was approved by european parliament and european council for the purpose of the liberalization of energy markets; the directive defines electricity generation, transmission, distribution, supply common rules and corresponding division of the license activities. jsc energo-pro georgia is a daughter company of the czech energo-pro group, which has the experience of the energy business regulated by the alike legislation in the member states of the european union. accordingly the group applied the experience and completed first phase of reorganization successfully in advance. as for the upcoming changes jsc energo-pro group unilaterally welcomes harmonization of georgian legislation with the euro regulations, legislative changes based on homogeneous principles, market liberalization and increase of competition, which will foster customers service improvement and will link customer service quality to the european quality standard. worth mentioning is that, despite implemented and future reforms, daily activities of jsc energo-pro georgia will maintain corresponding human and technical resources, which will foster efficient business conduct of the company.

management of jsc energo-pro georgia introduced 2017 annual report and planned activities for 2018 to representatives of media in batumi. in year 2017 company improved the output in different directions: for the purpose of customers relations service quality improvement number of activities were implemented; in 2017 process of individual re-metering was carried out successfully. european standard individual meters have been installed to all customers of epg; in frame of the company growth and development plan, in august 2017 epg purchased kakheti distribution energy company, increasing its service area and becoming one of the largest energy companies in georgia. one of the most significant events of 2017 was achievement of bb stable rating by fitch agency in october. receiving the rating underlines financial stability of epg and its successful operation in energy sector; in 2017 company has successfully completed implementation of resource management system ifs; hpps owned by the company generated the high volume of electricity. during the presentation of the report, major emphasis were made so on the strategic directions as on the investment projects carried out in 2017. in 2017 jsc energo-pro georgia carried out 89 mln gel investment, while in 2018 the company plans 92 mln investment projects. journalists also received information about the activities planned for 2018 and the priorities of the company in the new operation year. after the completion of the report presentation, management of epg responded to the questions posed by the journalists.

jsc energo-pro georgia meets summer season at the touristic zones prepared
in summer season electricity consumption in touristic zones increases. to provide stable and high quality electricity supply at the resorts, jsc energo-pro georgia makes the focus of its investments on the increase of the network reliability and its rehabilitation. with these purposes in adjara and guria regions company carried out millions of gel investment. today reconstruction works at 110 kv substation batumi 4 were observed by the director general of epg mikheil botsvadze and the chairman of adjara government archil khabadze. at present complete reconstruction of the substation takes place, two new transformers were added to the existing one tripling the substation’s capacity of electricity transmission. the works will be completed before the season starts and upgraded substation will provide stable electricity supply of the mostly loaded districts of batumi. apart from that rehabilitation activities are being carried out at 110 kv hv transmission lines adlia 1 and adlia 2, these works will also be completed before the commencement of the season. renewed transmission line will provide stable electricity supply of batumi city. significant rehabilitation works were carried out in batumi boulevard, the works still continue at other streets in the city. simultaneously construction of new 35 kv transmission line takes place in kobuleti, which will improve supply of seaside line of the city in view of increased consumption. rehabilitation activities were also carried out at 10 kv transmission line supplying electricity to gonio and kvariati.

gender issues and support of vocational education development at jsc energo-pro georgia
for the purpose of the popularization of vocational education and maintenance of gender balance in the field of energy, jsc energo-pro georgia continues implementation of certain projects. epg hosted 10th and 11th grade pupils from 5 schools in gldani and temka districts. the project was implemented with the partnership with non-governmental organization world vision. pupils first visited the training center of epg and later were at sightseeing tour at zahesi hpp. the project involved 15 pupils in total – 9 girls and 6 boys.
at the epg training center the pupils attended the presentation, where they were introduced to the ways of enrollment into the vocational education, what are the mechanisms and programs at epg for their future recruitment and career development. after the presentation pupils were taken to sightseeing tour to zahesi hpp where they visited the control panel, generators hall and the dam.
“this activity is the part of company strategy – to attract as many youth and support their development as professionals. apart from that it is highly important for us to promote energy sector in view of gender balance maintenance and increase of female enrollment. for the motivation purposes we are offering monthly grants to students and what is more important after the completion of education, the graduates will have an actual opportunity for recruitment at our company” – said head of hr department of epg giorgi trapaidze.
