technical brigade of epg successfully carry out repair works in extremely sever conditions
special technical brigades of jsc energo-pro georgia was working for 4 hours in an alpic zone. with the purpose to rehabilitate 110 kv hv transmission line moashi, the brigade worked at 2400 m altitude in lentekhi region, 5 km distance from moashi resort. technical brigade was landed to the site by helicopter, as due to difficult terrain and snow, reaching the damage location with special technique was impossible; apart from that temperature reached -15 c0 and company employees were conditioned to carry out works in sever circumstances. for a week, before the comancement of works in alpic zone, epg kutaisi, zestaphoni, racha, lechkhumi and kvemo svaneti hv service employees also have been working in sever conditions to carry our checking and cleansing of the moashi transmission line highway. “transmission line moashi is the major electricity supply line of daba mestia, mestia region villages and newly opened ski resourt tetnuldi; accordingly, repair of the mentioned line was significant for our company. during the repairs, the biggest risk was that in case weather got worth it would be impossible for a helicopter to return, however despite this our employees expressed readiness and in a preliminarily agreed time frame successfully repaired the damaged section of the line, for which they deserved our gratitude. we should be indeed very proud that such professionals serve georgian energy sector” – said director general of epg mikheil botsvadze.

independent producer of electricity, czech company "energo-pro" a.s. expands its activities in galicia, spain. the company completed xallas electricidad y aleaciones, s.a.u ("xeal") and feroe ventures & investments s.l.u. ("feroe") acquisition of 100% equity capital of companies from leading global investment firm sixth street. this is one of the largest czech investments in spain. to finance the transaction, "energo-pro" a.s. received a loan of 300 million eur from j.p. morgan and goldman sachs. xeal owns and operates ten hydro power plants with a capacity of 167 mw and two ferrosalloy plants.   "the acquisition of hydro power plants in galicia, spain, is part of our business diversification aimed at decreasing macroeconomic and geopolitical risks. for the first time, we entered the largest and most promising market of the eurozone. with this purchase, the volume of sales in euros will increase, which will positively affect the capital structure of energo-pro," - said petr milev, executive director of "energo-pro group".   energo-pro has been specializing in hydrogeneration for almost 30 years. the company owns and operates 34 hydro power plants in bulgaria, georgia and turkey with a total installed capacity of 859 mw. it is also active in latin america and is currently building a new hydro power plant in colombia.   the group owns an electricity distribution network in bulgaria and georgia, which serves more than 2.5 million customers. it is one of the largest employers, with more than 9,000 employees.   companies affiliated with energo-pro also own and operate two hydro power plants in turkey: alpaslan ii and karakurt with a total installed capacity of 377 mw, as well as two hydro power plants in czech republic. the total installed capacity of the group exceeds 1248 megawatts. the industrial backbone of the group is litostroj group, a leading manufacturer of hydro-electromechanical equipment for hydro power plants.

second stage of recruitment of the professional study facility students started
jsc energo-pro georgia started second stage of the grant program for students of the professional study facilities. 10 more best candidates will receive stipends from the company and after the completion of their education, they will be given the opportunity of employment at the company. “ministry of education and science has already held united professional test. deriving from the results students successfully passed the test and also have applied to epg for the stipend grant will be interviewed. as a result of the interview best candidates will be revealed and granted stipends. at this stage 10 more students will be granted stipends” – said head of hrd of the company otar tabatadze. first stage of the professional study facilities students grant program took place in june 2014. as a result epg concluded grant agreement with 12 students from 8 professional study facilities. amount of monthly stipend amounts gel 150. due to the immense interest towards the program, company gives employment opportunity not only to grantees but also other students willing employment at epg. they undertook medium professional test which was close to the final employment test at epg. average result of grantees was 80.1%, as for the rest of the students – 73.4%. after completion of education at the professional study facilities or at the final stage, all grantees and candidates who received high score at the medium test will be offered 1 or 2 month internship at the company. after the internship the candidates will undertake final employment test and candidates with high scores will be offered employment at epg.

today a meeting between the management of epg, deputy minister of energy and gnewrc has been held at the ministry of energy, where company provided complete information and calculation of necessary investment projects to irina milorava chairman of gnewrc and deputy minister ilia eloshvili. total amount of the investment projects approximately amounts gel 950 mln. despite the fact that throughout the years grid rehabilitation activities were held and investments were made, network which was robbed in the past requires more investments and work. „company constantly possesses, controls and updates detailed information about our investment projects. we precisely know weaknesses of our grid and were always ready to provide required data. all the projects which we have submitted contain detailed analyses which are supported by specific arguments.“ – said technical manager of epg aleko nemsadze. epg welcomes state endeavor to find financing sources of the mentioned projects. on its hand epg will implement all the projects with the same success as it did the individual re-metering project, for which company deserved numerous gratitude. epg continues re-metering of regions. company serves 980 000 customers. up to now it has re-metered 750 000 customers and investment only in this regard amounts gel 200 000 000. it was decided at the meeting that the other meeting will be scheduled in 2 weeks’ time and concrete priorities will be established there.

possible theft at epg substation
possible theft was detected at the substation owned by epg in chiatura. in particular artificially created emergency shut down took place at the 6 kv #5 feeder. apart from that as a result of the technical brigades on the spot revision, it was detected that approximately 300 l transformer oil has been stolen. investigation is being conducted and details will be known later. due to the mentioned fact electricity supply was suspended to 1315 customers in chiatura. epg technical brigades started immediate rehabilitation of the damaged network to restore electricity supply to shut down customers. at present only 60 customers are left without electricity supply so far. to timely resolve the problem epg allocated new transformer which is at present being installed. as soon as transformer installation works are completed electricity supply will resume to remaining customers by the end of the day.

energo-pro georgia has completed individual re-metering of kobuleti region. the region has been completely individually re-metered; in particular 25 villages, daba chakvi and ochkhamuri, also city of kobuleti, in total up to 24 000 customers. with european standard individual meters company customers will easily control their electricity consumption. with the aim of the implementation of the project epg invested gel 5 959 750. the final village which was re-metered in kobuleti region is village khala, where completion of works was reviewed by the management of jsc energo-pro georgia and the head of adjara government archil khabadze. “kobuleti region is one of the first regions where epg completed individual re-metering. individual re-metering project is one of the priorities for our company, as it gives us the opportunity to precisely bill our customers, which is vital for every customer. apart from that in parallel to re-metering we actively conducted electricity grid rehabilitation to increase security of the grid and improve electricity supply quality” – said director of the west georgia regional branch of the company irakli vakhtangidze. along with individual re-metering jsc energo-pro georgia conducted electricity grid rehabilitation – replaced depreciated cables and poles with insulated cables and reinforced concrete poles; as a result of rehabilitation network infrastructure improved increasing quality of electricity supply; and service eventually. jsc energo-pro georgia continues individual re-metering in other regions throughout its service area and by year 2015 individual re-metering will be completed within whole georgia.

alarm installed by epg at dariali gorge village gveleti will be launched in advance to the possible danger. “coverage area of the alarm is 1000 meters. epg kazbegi s/c carried out all the required installation and network activities; therefore there is on duty person to launch the alarm during the danger,” – said manager of epg kazbegi s/c davit kikalishvili. accordingly, in case of the danger emerges during the road cleaning activities, personnel working on the spot will receive the warning through the alarm in advance.
