jsc energo-pro georgia continues to carry out projects to popularize the energy sector and attract young staff. over the past few months, 29 students have undergone internship in the company in frame of "summer employment program". 5 students have already been employed. in nearest future 5 more students will be recruited, while the rest of the candidates will start working at the company gradually after the graduation.   "participation in the summer employment program of jsc "energo-pro georgia" has given me the opportunity to aquire practical knowledge and experience that can not be taught only in the university. internship period was very interesting and fruitful. as a result of internships, i reviewed the working processes at the spot. this allowed me to develop skills, which was practically impossible with only a theoretical knowledge. after completing the internship i have signed a six-month contract with the company and i am anticipating future professional growth and development," - said gocha kuchuashvili, graduate of georgian technical university faculty of energy, participant of the summer employment program.   the summer employment program was designed for the graduate students and graduates of the faculty of energy, as well as energy and power engineering students of vocational colleges.   the summer employment program included a two-month paid internship. the selected candidates passed internships and trainings at different departments of the company - labor protection, diagnostics, relay protection, electricity substations operations, metering lab, operational management, designing, hydro power stations, energy survailance, call center and other directions. internships were conducted at the headquarters of the company in tbilisi and regional branches in kutaisi, batumi, khashuri and telavi.   interns were distributed in the company's branches and departments. at the same time, all the interns had their mentor. after the internship, the mentors and heads of the relevant structural units listened to the final presentation prepared by the students and evaluated each intern. all interns of the program received positive assessment and relevant recommendations for future employment prospects.   „mentioned employment program may be considered as a message to undergraduate students so to attract them in choosing their future profession from the energy field. we promise them that recruitment of the best students will be our priority as we are interested in attracting young cadres to the energy sector” – said director general of jsc energo-pro georgia mikheil botsvadze.   the "summer employment program" implemented by jsc "energo-pro georgia" was a pilot project, which will continue in future and cover all regions of georgia  within the service area of ​​the company.

from view pont of professional progress for women and gender equality, jsc “energo-pro georgia became winner of competition “business for gender equality” that was announced by “millenium challenge fund – for georgia” in the biggest business sector. during the years company has carried out most significant works in terms of creation the worthy working conditions for women employeed here and for improvement of “gender balance”. jsc “energo- pro georgia” carries out innovations and implements as in employment fields as well as in field of professional increase and development of the employees. “deriving from the specificity of energy company work, percent share of women employeed by us seems not to be big and is only 15 %, but flexible working graphic, safe working environment, feeling of defense and additional benefits give oppurtunities to our women employees to balance working and personal life in better way and distribute work at their personal consideration that is most cases inluences positively on labor efficiency – this is the main profit of the company” – giorgi trapaidze, head of human resources deparrment of jsc “energo-pro georgia” mentioned, to whom the prize on behalf of the entire company was handed. there were 33 different business organizations acting in georgia were participating in the competition announced by “millenium challenge fund”. competition was aiming to reveal and support those businesses and companies,which implement the principles for women strengthening, study, education and professional development.

eight succsesfull students of low voltage electrician speciality of six professional colleges will have 200 gel student grant per month from “energo-pro georgia” during the studying process and after completion, employment offer will be from the company. students were chosen based on the successful academic study, raitings, recommendations from the administration of colleges and upon interviews with the company representatives. “our goal is to have as many professional power engineering specialists as possible in the country. with the organization of the company, many activities were performed and will be carried out in the future for school pupils and students of professional and high colleges. we want our future generation to become much more interested with energy and electrical engineering field. these young people shall become professionl ones in the future. to those ones who already chose this direction, we try to give more motivation and possibility for professional development” – was stated by general director of jsc “energo-pro georgia” .“it is significant that majority of professional colleges is located in the regions of georgia, accordingly, the youth residing in the regions is given the opportunity to study the profession and after completion of study be employed in corresponding service center or branch of “energo-pro georgia” located in their own region” – was said by giorgi trapaidze, head of human resources managemet department. based on his words, at this stage student grants were received by : students of akhaltsikhe college “opizari”, poti college “phazisi”, telavi college “prestige”, saguramo “ilia tsinamdzgvrishvili public college”, tbilisi professional colleges “mermisi” and “speqtri”. jsc “energo-pro georgia” will carry out the mentioned project from september in high colleges, georgian technical university and akaki tsereteli kutaisi state university.

management of energo-pro presented 2019 summoning annual report of the company to representatives of media in rustavi. only last year company carried out 112.2 mln gel investment, paid gel 122 mln to state budget. investments carried out were applied to low and high voltage network rehabilitation projects as well as rehabilitation of generation objects. as a result of gumati 1 hpp and rioni hpp rehabilitation, additional capacity of 4,7 mw was added to georgian energy system. electricity purchased and transmitted in 2019 in total amounted 5 381 mln kw/hrs, while distributed and transmitted electricity totaled 4 844 mln kw/hrs. losses in the network amounted 537 mln kw/hrs, which is 9.97 %. in 2019 significant, activities were carried out at high voltage substations batuimi 1, batumi 2, zugdidi 2, bakisubani, borjomi 2, mestia, bakuriani, gudauri, patara rustavi, marjvena sanapiro. 35-10 kv cells, power transformers, 35 kv and 10-6 kv distribution fields were installed at the mentioned substations. at other substations 10 kv distribution fields’ buildings were repaired, 110 kv breakers and disconnectors were installed, 110 kv current and voltage transformers installed. new substation “stadium” was built in batumi, 35-10 kv new cells and power transformer were installed in these substations.   in addition, a 35 kv cable line connecting the batumi 2 and batumi stadium substations was constructed; 110 kv power transmission line "erge 1" was doublechaned; rehabilitation of 35 kv transmission line "tsemi 1" was carried out. prophylactic activities were carried out at 23 substations where scada system was introduced. namely, scada system installation, structural works and testing-commissioning were carried out at substations "batumi-3", "batumi-5", "makhinjauri", "poti-1", "iveria"; scada system audit, prevention and testing was carried out at substations “bakuriani”, “gudauri”, “poti-4”, “goderdzi”, “tetritskaro”; scada system has also been tested at substations "chiatura-1", "chiatura-2", "chiatura-3", "chiatura-4", "chiatura-5", "tkibuli-1", "tkibuli-2", "tkibuli" -3 ”. in 2019, in order to improve electricity supply, projects were implemented in both low and high voltage grids. within the framework of 6/10 kv network rehabilitation project 8 227 poles, 593 275 meters of cables, 53 104 meters of underground cables and 586 new transformers were installed. within the framework of 0.4 kv network rehabilitation project 10 446 poles and 721 784 meters of sip cables were installed. as for the new connection project, 26 934 poles, 768 363 meters of sip cables, 816 545 meters of cables, 92 285 meters of 6/10 kv cables and 705 pc 6 / 10-0.4 kv transformers were installed. substations and transformer stations were also repaired. large-scale projects were implemented at gumati 1, rioni and chkhorotsku hydropower plants. after the reconstruction of the second hydro power unit of gumati 1 hydro power plant, the installed capacity of hpp increased by 1.7 mw to 48.4 mw. the total capacity of gumat hpp cascade became 71.2 mw. after the completion of similar works, the installed capacity of rioni hpp increased by 3 mw and amounted to 54 mw. the following projects have been launched in 2019 and will be completed by 2020: rehabilitation of gumati 2 hpp # 3 unit, rehabilitation of zahesi hpp #6 unit, rehabilitation of lajanuri hpp #3 unit, rehabilitation of dzevrula hpp #2 unit. in total electricity generated by the company owned 15 hydropower plants amounted to 1 554 425 mw/hrs. apart from that number of significant and successful projects were implemented at gardabani gas turbine power plant. one of the key strategic priorities for the company remains high customer service quality. number of significant activities have been taken in this direction in 2019. customer relations management program has been improved. the call center personnel and customer relations specialists were trained in sector-specific legislation and improved service quality. in terms of gender equality and professional advancement for women, in 2019 jsc energo-pro georgia won the “millennium challenge fund – georgia” competition „business for gender equality” in the large business sector. as for the energy sector popularization project, summer student employment program, which provides recruitment of young, professional staff, continues. at the meeting the issue of mestia electricity supply problem, unreasonably increased consumption and electricity theft facts were discussed separately. it was noted that in december 2019 electricity consumption of upper svaneti exceeded total consumption of 19 regions population. “we have presented the regional press 2019 annual report, also discussed company plans for 2020. we have presented a number of important and successful projects that have been completed in 2019. we discussed improved results in various directions, of course, as well as the shortcomings and challenges that are the main objective of the company. we believe that 2020 will be one of the most important years for the development of the company,” - said mikhail botsvadze, director general of jsc energo-pro georgia. according to him, the company welcomes the implementation of european regulations and the establishment of a new market model in the country. these changes will guarantee maximum market liberalization, increased competition and investment in the sector. consequently, on the one hand, the quality of service will be improved, and on the other hand, the volume of investments in hydro-power plants owned by energo-pro will increase.

“energo-pro georgia” make investment up to 2000 000 gel within the scope of rehabilitation of two substations in rustavi. full reconstruction-rehabilitation of 110 kv substations “marjvena sanapiro” and “patara rustavi” is undergoing. “we do quite important works for the city. after completion of reconstruction, rustavi electricity supply will be much more improved. power transformer will be additionally installed in the substation “marjvena sanapiro” that will provide electricity improvement process of the city more efficiently” – was stated by zurab sikharulidze, high voltage network manager of jsc “energo-pro georgia”.reconstuction-rehabilitation works of substations are also undergoing at this time and will be completed by the end of june.

jsc "energo-pro georgia" won the nomination "business partner of vocational education 2019" of the millennium challenge corporation. the company received the national vocational education award.
